Amy Roden, American Honey Princess

2010 American Honey Princess Amy Roden, 2010 American Honey Princess, visits Lithopolis Sept 6th-12th as part of her National Honey Month tour. She'll speak about the honey bee's importance in optimizing food stock and livestock, and will discuss the many uses for honey, including as a home remedy.  Amy will also visit several local schools during her stay.  Amy is the 21-year-old daughter of Bob and Cindy Roden of West Bend, WI, and a senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication at The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.  She enjoys beekeeping, singing, serving as a County 4-H leader and helping out on her family's dairy farm.  As Honey Princess, Amy serves as a national spokesperson on behalf of the American Beekeeping Federation, a trade organization representing beekeepers and honey producers throughout the U.S.  More info at American Beekeeping Federation.

Kristen Fae-Clark, Author/Illustrator - Naomi the Queen Bee

Naomi the Queen Bee Children's Book Author Kristen Fae-Clark will sign and sell copies of her debut book, Naomi the Queen Bee, as well as read to the visitors at her booth.  This wonderful children's story gives an interesting interpretation of what it takes to be a good, responsible person, while educating its readers about the dwindling honey bee population and providing facts about honey bees and the hive.
