Tips when Baking with Honey
Substitute 1 cup of honey for 1 cup of sugar
For each cup of honey substitute, also do
the following:
· Decrease amount of liquids
by 1/4 cup of honey used.
· If recipe does not call for liquid, add 1 or 2 Tablespoons of flour · Add 1/2 tsp baking soda for each cup of honey used to neutralize honey's acidity and help the food rise. · Beat mixture longer and more vigorously than sugar recipes. · Lower baking temperature by 25 degrees. · Watch time carefully as things brown quicker with honey. |
